Abstract
This paper explores the role of experience in interpreting miracle narratives in Luke-Acts, advocating for a holistic hermeneutic that takes seriously presuppositions, exegetical analysis, biblical-theological synthesis, and contemporary application of miraculous texts. Wadholm surveys rationalist critiques of miracle narratives, engages with Pentecostal and charismatic hermeneutical approaches, and concludes that Spirit-filled interpreters who bring their experiential knowledge of the miraculous to the text are better positioned to understand Luke’s intentional presentation of signs and wonders as normative for the Christian community.
