Abstract

If the Spirit speaks in the act of reading, is what the reader receives revelation? Antombikums examines the epistemic status that Pentecostal hermeneutics assigns to religious experience, and the consequences of treating experience as immediate revelation rather than as a condition of interpretation. The question is the hinge of the discipline: it decides whether Pentecostal reading can be corrected by evidence, or only confirmed by further experience.
