Abstract

A critical review of Craig S. Keener’s Spirit Hermeneutics: Reading Scripture in Light of Pentecost (Wm. B. Eerdmans, 2016). Autry evaluates Keener’s proposal for a Spirit-informed hermeneutic that balances historical-grammatical exegesis with the lived experience of the charismatic community, arguing that Keener strikes a near-perfect balance between reader-response and historical-critical approaches to biblical interpretation.
